2024 BACA Stargazing White Wine
2024 BACA Stargazing White Wine

The 2024 BACA Stargazing is a poised Marsanne–Roussanne blend defined by understated fruit, fresh weight, and generous texture. Delicate aromas of chamomile, honey, and beeswax layer over just-ripe stone fruit and hints of quince. The palate is crunchy and mineral-driven, finishing long and composed, highlighting both naunce and age-worthy depth.
Mendocino County AVA – Spirit Canyon Vineyard
Tracing the curving banks of the Russian River headwaters, Spirit Canyon is a small vineyard in Mendocino. Oak-dotted hillsides lie to one side while black walnut trees and native sedges line the river’s edge. This ecosystem provides a natural habitat for the yeasts that natively ferment our Stargazing blend. The vineyard is farmed using organic practices and utilizes sheep in the place of agricultural mowing equipment. The Rhone grapes cultivated here are of Mediterranean origin and are perfectly suited to the warm Mendocino climate. The resulting fruit achieves phenological ripeness at low brix allowing us to make this elegant and austere wine.

| Vintage Notes | The 2024 vintage began with much needed winter rainfall that revitalized the soil and set the stage for healthy vine growth, and a balanced crop. Summer was marked by mostly moderate temperatures with a brief burst of warmtharound Labor Day, where well-developed canopies shielded the fruit from excess heat. As harvest approached, mild daytime temperatures and cool nights arrived, allowing for steady ripening into September. The resulting wines showcase beautiful color and depth, with precise acidity, rich texture, and concentrated flavors. |
